SUMMER/ YOUTH/ FAMILY AND  AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS

Statement of Purpose:

While the media is an extremely positive force in our society, the negative aspects that are brought to light through television and music tend to fill our airwaves with an abundance of false realities.  We believe that youth and families have developed an incorrect understanding of  what real success is. This perception has caused an unbalanced mindset within our  youth and families which has lead to drugs, alcohol, low self-esteem, violence,  increased drop-out rates, truancy, and teen pregnancy. The purpose of conducting the Be About It Movement is to bring about a healthy view of realistic success to youth and families while promoting preventive maintenance, tools of living a balanced lifestyle and giving hope to youth and families. We encourage our youth to always be of healthy mind, body, spirit, and soul, while striving together to live through a green economy.

Description of B.A.I.M.  Project:

The Be About It Movement seeks to utilize its platform to squash the false realities that are rendered by the media, and replace these perceptions with the fundamentals necessary to truly achieve success. 

In-depth lesson plans will be delivered by Tenina Stevens  AKA Suga-T, a nationally-known celebrity recording artist, actress, producer,CEO, mother and collaborative parties who are experts within these fields.  She is committed to being a spokesperson and keynote speaker for “The Be About It Movement.”  Having been through much of what youth and families are experiencing today enables her to clearly identify with the current situations affecting our communities today. She was a victim of violence as well as behaving violently, a teen parent with low-self esteem as well as survivor in a male dominated industry. Not only will Suga T provide key components to educate and inspire youth and families, but she will share  her positive transition (make-over) of becoming an historical legend. She will share what motivated her while raising two children while building a legendary national historical brand, starting a fragrance line that supports economic growth while going back to school completing her college education.
